Hello everyone. It’s been quite a while. If you’re on my Patreon you’ve seen what’s been going on, but with 0.5 peering over the horizon I thought I’d post here as well.

Short version is boring: life. Several deaths in the family, alongside caring for very elderly relatives and fighting a job I hated. No fun, no motivation. Towards the end of last year I got things together, got a new job lined up, and set a goal of January for releasing 0.5. Further medical problems and ultimately more death delayed that to next month, but finally it’s looking good. It’s going to add about 75,000 words so it’s a pretty massive update at least. I’ve not been idle.

Alongside that there’s been a bunch of new character art, and recently the first CGs have been commissioned. They’ll be done by a variety of artists, not only Tanutanuki; she will still do all sprites and character designs, but I’ll use additional artists to illustrate the fun scenes using her designs. This will mean more art more frequently, which is never a bad thing.

Finally, I have an editor helping me out now: Whale, writer for a couple of VNs but most notably Anamnesis. This means a extra set of dedicated eyes checking on consistency and quality for me. He’s already provided invaluable criticism, and with his help the project will become even better.

So 0.5 will land next month sometime, and soon after that 0.4 will land here on Itch. 0.4 adds some 60,000 words over 0.3, so lots to enjoy. 0.5 itself represents a key build for the game in terms of its story and pacing, and following it I intend to return to more regular, much smaller builds. Nobody really loves a novel-sized update only twice a year, even me. Bi-monthly or better is my goal, and by golly I’ll make it work.
